Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the Questions We Hear Most
Here are the questions we’re asked most often by new and prospective patients at Grace Optimal Wellness — from what your first visit looks like to how our programs work and what care costs. If you don’t see your question answered below, we’d love to talk it through on a free discovery call.
What is the first step at Grace Optimal Wellness?
Your journey begins with a free discovery call — a short, no-pressure conversation where we get to know you, hear what’s going on, and walk through what care looks like. If it feels like a good fit, the next step is your new patient consultation ($250), an in-depth intake visit where we map your full health history, symptoms, and goals before recommending any testing or treatment.
How is your approach different from traditional care?
Conventional visits often focus on managing individual symptoms in isolation — and in short appointments. Our functional medicine approach looks at the whole system: hormones, gut, metabolism, stress, and lifestyle all interacting. Using advanced diagnostics and unhurried visits, we work to identify the underlying drivers of your symptoms rather than just quieting them.
Do you offer hormone therapy or BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy)?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, we offer Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) to restore estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or thyroid support. Hormone care at Grace Optimal Wellness always looks at the full picture — not just a single hormone — and includes integrated support for thyroid, adrenal, and metabolic health.
Is hormone therapy safe, and how quickly will I feel results?
When dosed and monitored thoughtfully, BHRT has a strong safety profile and has helped countless patients feel like themselves again. Most people begin to notice improvements — steadier mood, better sleep, more energy — within the first 3 to 4 weeks. Fuller benefits, including body composition and long-term resilience, typically show up over 8 to 12 weeks and continue to deepen with ongoing care.
Do you do lab testing and what does that involve?
Yes — functional lab testing is central to how we work. Depending on your story and symptoms, we may order advanced hormone panels (including DUTCH testing), full thyroid panels, adrenal and cortisol rhythm testing, gut and microbiome analysis, nutrient and metabolic markers, and inflammation labs. Testing is always tailored to your specific situation so your plan is built on data, not guesswork.
What kinds of programs do you provide?
We offer several structured paths, including our Optimal Wellness Program for broad health optimization, our Hormonal Wellness Program for focused hormone rebalancing, and our Revitalize Wellness Program — a nine-month longevity-focused journey. Each program combines testing, personalized planning, nutrition, and ongoing follow-up.
Can you help with menopause symptoms, low testosterone, or thyroid issues?
Yes — these are among the most common concerns we support. We work with patients navigating perimenopause and menopause, men dealing with low testosterone and fatigue, and both men and women managing thyroid dysfunction including Hashimoto’s. Learn more about our Women’s Health and Men’s Health programs. Each plan is individualized to your labs, symptoms, and life stage.
How much does treatment cost, and does insurance cover it?
Costs vary based on the testing, therapies, and program you choose. Our functional medicine care is largely self-pay, with transparent pricing walked through before any commitment. Many advanced labs can be billed through insurance, and we’re happy to provide documentation so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement when eligible. Your free discovery call is where we walk you through what to expect financially.
Where are you located and which areas do you serve?
Our office is located in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, just outside Nashville. We serve patients throughout Middle Tennessee — including Mt. Juliet, Nashville, Hermitage, Lebanon, Franklin, Brentwood, and surrounding communities — both in person and by telehealth.
What if I live outside the area — do you offer telehealth?
Yes. We offer telehealth visits for patients throughout Tennessee. You can receive comprehensive functional medicine care from wherever you are in the state — including testing, consultations, plan reviews, and follow-ups.
